U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card Review

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card is an outstanding business cash back credit card that offers a 0% APR period on purchases and balance transfers which is not typical for business credit cards. So, if you are planning major business purchases - a 0% Intro APR period may help you to avoid paying interest for the first 15 billing cycles. With an addition of a 3% bonus cash back on gas, EV charging stations, office supply stores, cell phone service providers, and restaurants the credit card might become a very nice option for those whose business budget includes expenses in these categories. The card also doesn’t charge an annual fee and offers a sign-up bonus of $500 in cash back after $4,500 made in purchases within the first 150 days of account opening. However, we can’t say that it is an ideal choice for every small or medium-sized business owner since you are limited with the bonus cash back categories.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card: pros and cons

Pros: Cons:
No annual fee. U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card doesn’t charge an annual fee for the use of the credit card. This both applies to you and your employees. Foreign transaction fee. U.S. Bank Business card charges a 3% fee on every international purchase made both in U.S. dollars or other currency. That’s a big drawback for business owners who work with other countries and have frequent business travels. But it is worth saying that you can get 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Travel Rewards Center.
0% Intro APR period on purchases and balance transfers. Enjoy a 0% Intro APR period on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 billing cycles after the account opening. Keep in mind, balance transfers have to be made within 30 days of the account opening. After that, the variable APR for purchases and balance transfers of 19.24% - 28.24% Variable will be applied. The 0% Intro APR period may be canceled if you make a late payment, a returned payment, or exceed your credit limit. Rewards categories are limited. The categories where you can get a high 3% cash back may not align with your spending.
3% cash back categories. You can earn a 3% cash back on such rewards categories as gas (including EV charging), office supply, cell phone services, and restaurants. The additional cash back of 1% on all eligible purchases is also provided.
A sign-up offer. Spend $4,500 on the Account Owner's card within the first 150 days after the account opening and earn $500 in cash back as a sign-up bonus.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card: rewards system in a nutshell

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card offers a 3% cash back on rewards categories like gas (including EV charging), office supply, cell phone services, and restaurants. Every other eligible purchase will earn you a 1% cash back. Using your U.S. Bank Triple Cash Card, you can also get 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the U.S. Bank Travel Rewards Center.

You can redeem your cash back in the form of a statement credit or deposit to a U.S. Bank checking, savings, or money market account. U.S. Bank rewards cards (such as Cash+, FlexPerks, or Altitude) can also be leveraged as a redemption instrument if you have one. The minimum redemption amount is $25.

There is also a Real-Time rewards option. You can easily redeem your cash back just with the help of your mobile device. If you make a purchase that can be covered by the earned rewards you will receive a text message with the option to redeem cash rewards toward that purchase. Just answer “Redeem” and complete the redemption. The points redemption comes in the form of a credit to your monthly billing statement.

Who can benefit from getting the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card?

If your business spends much money at gas stations (including EV charging), at office supply stores, on cell phone services, or at restaurants - the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards card might become a great credit card for your business needs. You will be able to get a 3% cash back in each of these categories. Also, if you want to make a balance transfer from another credit card - the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards card can help you out. Balance transfers made within 30 days since the account opening fall under a 0% Intro APR period. The 0% introductory APR is valid for the first 15 billing cycles.

But if you are not a high-spender in the early mentioned categories, and your business spends are very diverse - we would not recommend the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards card. The 1% cash back on all other purchases is not as attractive as you might have wanted. In this case, you can consider applying for the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card that offers an unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases and one of the best sign-up bonuses of $750 after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. But if your expenses are not too high and you have just started your own small business, American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card might even be the better choice for you. It offers 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year, then 1%. However, the sign-up bonus is more modest than Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card has: a $250 statement credit after you make $5,000 in purchases within the first 6 months of the account opening and an additional $250 after you spend an additional $10,000 or more in qualifying purchases on your Card within the first year.

Are there any other benefits?

Here is a list of some other benefits that you can get using U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card:

  • 24/7 customer support service. The U.S. Bank customer support is working 24/7 and you can always ask for help if you have questions or problems with your credit card.
  • $100 statement credit on software subscription expenses. Get a $100 statement credit for recurring software subscription expenses such as FreshBooks or Quickbooks. The $100 statement credit will be applied to your banking account within two billing cycles following 11 consecutive months of eligible software service purchases.
  • The cash back is unlimited. There is no upper limit on your total rewards including a 3% cash back on gas, EV charging stations, office supply, cell phone services, and restaurants.
  • U.S. Bank ExtendPay™ Plan. You can split your $100+ purchases into small monthly payments with no interest. You will just have to pay a small monthly fee that is lower than the interest that you would have to pay. That is one of the U.S. Bank credit card offers that you may need a lot if you want to avoid paying interest.
  • No expiration date for cash back earnings. The only way your cash back can disappear - is if you close your U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card account.
  • Mastercard World Elite Benefits. Get such exclusive MasterCard perks as ID Theft Protection™, $0 fraud liability, etc. Get more information on MasterCard World Elite official website.

Conclusion

Despite its low cash back outside increased cash back categories, we can say that U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card might be one of the best business credit cards for you and your employees. Unlike some other business credit cards, the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards card doesn’t have an upper limit on the bonus categories.

The credit card can also help you to avoid paying interest on your other card’s balance since you can make a balance transfer within the first 30 days after the account opening and enjoy a 0% Intro APR period. 0% Intro APR period on purchases may also be an essential factor for those who plan to make large purchases and carry a balance on the credit card. Among the benefits that are worth mentioning, we can also highlight a $0 annual fee, a $100 statement credit on software subscription expenses, and a sign-up offer of $500.
